According to the Ministry of Transport, travellers traveling to Ghana may now choose to obtain a visa upon arrival.
The Ghana Immigration Service and the Ghana Tourism Authority were consulted, the Transport Ministry said, and this came after both groups’ consultations.
According to the Ministry, this will help the government’s “Beyond the Return” effort.
“Approval has been given for passengers travelling to Ghana to opt for visa-on-arrival waiving the requirement for prior approval” a communiqué to all airlines said.
“Consequently, it would be appreciated if systems are updated to reflect this new arrangement and those responsible for checking-in passengers traveling to Ghana advised not to insist on entry visas prior to their boarding”, the statement added.
