The US president hosted the African leaders to a dinner in addition to the important diplomatic, bilateral, and multilateral engagements the leaders conducted with the US government and other development partners.

Akufo-Addo has made an official trip to Washington since Biden was elected president, but Kamala Harris, the vice president, hosted him.
The summit of US and African leaders in 2022 began on December 13 and runs through December 15. It is the second such event; the first was hosted by Joe Biden, who served as Barack Obama’s vice president at the time.
Ghana was represented by then-President John Dramani Mahama and wife Lordina Mahama in 2014 when the Obama White House hosted African leaders.
