After I obtained her visa and flight ticket, a friend advised my wife to file for divorce – Italian-based Ghanaian Man Reveals

Francis Wiredu, a Ghanaian living in Italy, has recounted his story, which concerns his wife.
He claims that his wife was “advised” to divorce him by someone he believes to be a friend and that this “advice” occurred just as he was arranging for her to travel to Italy to live with him.

In an interview with SVTV Africa, he disclosed that his friend had informed his wife that he was likely having an extramarital affair with a woman in Italy.

He stated in his submission;

“I came to Ghana every two years. I have records of all the monies I’ve sent to her, but she told my family members that I wasn’t feeding her and that we had no communication. I sacrificed a lot to process her passport, visa and ticket. I even had to move into a new apartment because the old one was not big enough for the four of us. A week before her flight was due, she told my family that she was not interested in the marriage anymore.

“Due to our jobs, we don’t find time to go out for such things. It is even difficult for me to go to the bar once a year. You are always tired. I won’t have that trust to keep her here while I stay in Italy.”

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah claps back at Martin Kpebu

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah referred to attorney Martin Kpebu’s comment accusing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of leading illegal and dishonest acts in his administration as humiliating and unprofessional.

Although the nation protects the freedoms of expression and association, he claimed that the accusation lacked any basis in truth and that Ghanaians should exercise restraint in their words.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is charged by attorney Martin Kpebu of leading illegal and corrupt actions at the White House and while serving as president.

On Saturday, July 23, 2022, the private attorney claimed that the president was a “abysmal failure” in the battle against corruption during an interview with Joynews’ Newsfile show.

On the heels of the most recent report from the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Martin Kpebu spoke (UNODC).

The first gentleman of the land is adamant about battling corruption under his watch, in the opinion of attorney Kpebu, which explains why the statistics keep getting worse.

“Akufo-Addo is a member of the Jubilee House crime syndicate. The president is undoubtedly involved. Without his participation, this corruption would not exist.

“Manasseh sprayed Zoomlion and did that thing. What was the purpose of the spraying while schools were shuttered during the Corona period and students were scheduled to return in three months?

“You follow Manasseh’s story, it lands on the president’s desk. Other stories land on their desks. The president; we have to say with all our energy, is part of that criminal syndicate and that we will not take this from you, you have to just step down,” he said.

However, the communications minister responded by calling Martin Kpebu’s remark “shameful and unprofessional.”

“It is dishonorable and wholly unprofessional to hear lawyer Kpebu accuse the President of the Republic of belonging to a criminal syndicate without any supporting evidence.”

“Even more worrying is the fact that a media house which is to be respected airs such content and happily reproduces it on websites and social media in a bid to achieve clicks and revenues on the backdrop of unfounded insults at its national leaders. We all uphold freedom of speech and association, but let’s be responsible in how we do this. ” He tweeted

Kumasi International Airport should be named in honor of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II– Gov’t urged

Nana Obiri Boahen, a private attorney, has acknowledged the King of Asante Kingdom Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s significant role to the creation of the Kumasi International Airport.
According to the former deputy general secretary of the government’s New Patriotic Party (NPP), the project’s name should be changed to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II International Airport because the King’s involvement in the ongoing Kumasi Airport cannot be diminished by any political party or individual.

After all, Kotoka inspired the name of the Accra Airport, and that's okay. We didn't give Accra Airport a name. In the same line, Nana Obiri Boahen said on Wontumi TV, which countryghana.com/ was watching, "I think we should call the Kumasi Airport Otumfuo Osei Tutu II International Airport."

He continued, “Everyone is hesitant to discuss this, but given his achievements and leadership positions in the project, I wonder why we won’t name the Kumasi Airport after him. During the interview, Nana Obiri Boahen grilled Oheneba Asiedu, the host.

The buyer credit and commercial contract agreements between the government and select corporations for the building of the international airports in Kumasi and Tamale were passed by Parliament in November 2016.

The government and Banco Santander S. A. and its affiliates entered into the first buyer credit agreement for €65,037,500 to build a portion of the Kumasi International Airport.

Additionally, the government and Banco Santander S. A. and its affiliates entered into a tied commercial credit arrangement for a total amount of €7,762,500 for the building of another airport sector.

The government and Contracta Construction UK Limited entered into a commercial contract for the design and execution of work for the development of the Kumasi International Airport for a total of €66,350,000.

Free SHS is not being reviewed by GES – DG dismisses reportage

Director General of GES Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwaa

Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has denied a report regarding the Free Senior High School Program that was attributed to him.
He claims that the report’s headline is “misleading” and “does not reflect the significance of the topic.”

Prof. Opoku-Amankwa had agreed to an interview, which was used to compile the reports.

He contends that he was misreported, nevertheless.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the GES is not undertaking any review of the FSHS,” he wrote in a rejoinder on Friday, July 22.

“Any such review of the FSHS Policy is the sole prerogative of the President and the government.”

He clarified that the Service is just an agency that only implements government policies and programmes in pre-tertiary education.

“The Ghana Education Service is a government agency and does not formulate or initiate a review of policies.”

Prof. Opoku-Amankwa emphasized that the Free SHS Program “would not be harmed by the IMF program,” as President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had informed students, prospective students, parents, and the entire nation.

“It is the commitment of GES under my direction to make sure that the goal of His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of delivering accessible, equitable, and high-quality free SHS education is completely implemented to the benefit of the good people of Ghana.”

Shatta Wale and I are no longer working – Bulldog (VIDEO)

On 3 FM today, the artist manager verified this. Bulldog claims that Shatta Wale and he are no longer working together, but he hasn’t made an announcement because when they resumed their collaboration, they never made a formal announcement.

Bulldog, who insists he has no beef with Shatta Wale, added that just because individuals aren’t working together any more doesn’t mean they aren’t communicating or that we are no longer friends.

Bulldog responded when asked why they haven’t spoken about their breakup, “since nobody wrote a story when I started working with him, so why should the split be announced? Why should we come and tell you that we are no longer together?

Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo and Nii Aryii Tagoe are featured in the video below. They told Bulldog to at the very least warn his industry peers about his split, and he said: “That is why I am telling you guys.” They were on the show as co-panelists.

Joe Biden tests positive for COVID-19

On Thursday, President Joe Biden underwent a Convid-19 test. His outcomes turned out to be favorable. President Biden has confined himself to the White House to recover from what appear to be minor symptoms. His doctor stated that since he is completely immunized and has received coronavirus booster shots, he should respond well to therapy.

The Pfizer antiviral medication Paxlovid has been initiated by the president. In a statement revealing his diagnosis, Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House communications secretary, remarked. Mr. Biden tested positive for the coronavirus for the first time that is known to have happened.

He will be required to isolate himself at the White House in accordance with the rules, but he will continue to perform all of his duties in full during that time, she said.

This morning, he spoke on the phone with members of the White House staff. He will participate in his scheduled meetings at the White House via phone and Zoom while confined.

President Biden had recently undergone a COVID-19 screening on Tuesday, with the results coming back negative.

On Thursday morning in Delaware, the First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden, likewise tested negative for COVID-19.

Government reviewing free SHS – Prof Opoku Amankwah

According to Prof. Kwasi Opoku Amankwah, Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), the government is now evaluating its policy on free senior high schools (Free SHS).

According to Prof. Opoku Amankwah, the evaluation will determine which Free SHS benefits the government will give up and charge parents for, according to myjoyonline.com.

“…we can conduct the investigation and then declare that, yes, Raymond will need to pay this much for an excellent education. These are the goods included in that cost.

“Then we will all put it out there and say this item, we can make do of it, and it will not affect quality, this item, I think we can get parents to pay,” he told the host of JoyNews Upfront programme, Raymond Acquah.

Teachers and headmasters are among the stakeholders in Ghana’s educational system that have urged a reassessment of the program, but the government has resisted.

In spite of the government seeking a bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Ministry of Finance stated earlier this month that the Free SHS policy will not be changed.

“Free SHS, the School Feeding programme, among others, are good social intervention programmes and it is the lack of financing and unsustainable debt burdens that could constrain a government’s ability to maintain its level of spending, including social or investment spending.

“In our situation, the IMF may ask Ghana to consider curtailing lower priority or non- productive spending (such as “white elephant” projects) as part of its fiscal adjustment but to preserve priority social spending, including on health and education,” parts of the statement said.
