Astronomer HR Chief Kristin Cabot Resigns After Coldplay Kiss-Cam Scandal 2

Kristin Cabot, Chief People Officer at tech firm Astronomer, has resigned following a viral incident at a Coldplay concert that sparked widespread controversy. The resignation comes just days after Andy Byron, the company’s CEO, also stepped down amid the same scandal, which captured the two in an intimate moment on the concert’s “kiss cam” at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on July 16, 2025.

The incident unfolded during Coldplay’s performance when the stadium’s jumbotron focused on Cabot and Byron, who were seen embracing and swaying to the music. Upon realizing they were on camera, the pair quickly attempted to hide, prompting Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to quip to the crowd, “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy.” The moment, captured by a concertgoer, rapidly spread across social media platforms, amassing over 125 million views on TikTok alone and igniting a firestorm of speculation and memes.

Internet sleuths soon identified the individuals as Cabot and Byron, both married to other people. Byron, a father of two, is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, while Cabot is married to Andrew Cabot, CEO of Privateer Rum. The public fallout intensified scrutiny on the executives and Astronomer, a New York-based data company known for its workflow management technology. The company, which secured $93 million in funding in May 2025, faced questions about workplace ethics and leadership conduct.

Astronomer confirmed Cabot’s resignation in a statement to multiple outlets, including TMZ and the BBC, saying, “Kristin Cabot is no longer with Astronomer. She has resigned.” The company had previously announced Byron’s resignation on July 19, stating, “Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted.” Both executives were placed on leave pending an internal investigation before their departures, and their profiles have since been removed from Astronomer’s website.

The scandal has drawn significant attention to Astronomer, with interim CEO Pete DeJoy acknowledging the unprecedented media spotlight in a LinkedIn post: “The events of the past few days have received a level of media attention that few companies—let alone startups in our small corner of the data and AI world—ever encounter. While I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name.” DeJoy, a co-founder and Chief Product Officer, has stepped in as interim CEO while the company searches for a permanent replacement.

Legal experts have noted that the resignations likely stem from concerns over workplace policies and public perception. “In a real-world big company, you can’t just fire someone because the headlines are ugly,” attorney Nicole Brenecki told the New York Post. Employment attorney William Cafaro added, “If you were to look for a picture of ‘cause’ [for firing] in the dictionary, it would show a picture of the head of HR having a public affair with the CEO of the company.”

The personal ramifications for Cabot and Byron have also been significant. Cabot was spotted without her wedding ring at her $2.2 million home in Rye, New Hampshire, on July 23, appearing somber while tending to her garden, according to exclusive Daily Mail photos. Byron’s wife, Megan, has removed his last name from her social media profiles, signaling strain in their marriage. Neither Cabot nor Byron has issued a public statement addressing the incident.

The controversy has also sparked broader discussions about privacy, workplace romances, and the power of social media in the digital age. Coldplay’s Chris Martin, aware of the incident’s impact, made a lighthearted reference to it during a subsequent concert in Madison, Wisconsin, warning concertgoers about the kiss cam to avoid similar awkward moments.

Astronomer has emphasized its commitment to moving forward, stating, “While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for our customers have not.” As the company navigates the fallout, the tech world and public alike continue to watch how this high-profile saga will shape its future.

In an emotional statement, Dey expressed deep gratitude to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), its Director-General, his co-presenters, production crew, and the numerous guests who graced the show during his time as host. “Greetings, after four incredible years, it is time. Today, I step away from #GTVBreakfast – a journey that began on August 2nd, 2021,” he wrote. “I am grateful to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, the Director-General, my amazing co-presenters, producers, directors, crew, the social team, and every single guest who shared our mornings.” He also extended thanks to his supporters for standing by him through the highs and lows, adding an apology to anyone he may have inadvertently offended during his tenure.

Dey’s exit has sparked mixed reactions among Ghanaians, with many praising his role in revitalizing the GTV Breakfast Show. All the best to you.” Another expressed sadness at the news, stating, “Kafui Dey no longer with GTV? I make sad sef.”

The seasoned broadcaster, known for his engaging interview style and professionalism, joined GTV in 2021 alongside co-hosts Valerie Danso and Thelma Tackie, as part of a major rebranding effort for the Breakfast Show. The revamped program, which aired weekdays from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM, featured segments like “The Newspaper Review,” “Social Media Eye,” “Sports,” and “Your World,” earning praise for its dynamic content and modernized studio setup. Dey’s presence was instrumental in restoring the show’s reputation as a cornerstone of Ghanaian morning television, reminiscent of its golden era with anchors like Earl Ankrah and Gifty Anti.

While Dey did not disclose the reasons for his departure, he hinted at future endeavors, stating, “This isn’t goodbye. Just the end of a chapter. I believe our paths will cross again—and when they do, we will create even more beautiful memories.” Speculation about his next move has already begun, with fans and media outlets eager to see where the versatile presenter will take his talents next.

Before GTV, Kafui Dey was a household name, having hosted “Who Wants to Be Rich?”—Ghana’s version of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”—and morning shows like “GH Today” on GHOne TV and “Starr Today” on Starr 103.5 FM. He also served as a lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Journalism and is an accomplished author, with titles such as How to MC Any Event and Public Speaking A to Z to his name.

Dey’s departure represents a significant loss for GTV, where he played a pivotal role in growing the Breakfast Show’s audience. As viewers bid farewell to the charismatic host, his legacy of professionalism, warmth, and dedication to quality broadcasting will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on Ghanaian television.

A leather-bound album compiled for Jeffrey Epstein’s 50th birthday in 2003 has resurfaced, revealing handwritten notes from former President Bill Clinton, fashion designer Vera Wang, and other prominent figures, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal. The album, organized by Epstein’s former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, contained messages from nearly 60 individuals, including business tycoons, celebrities, and politicians, shedding light on Epstein’s extensive network of influential connections.

Clinton’s note, written in his distinctive handwriting, praised Epstein’s “childlike curiosity” and enduring friendships, reading: “It’s reassuring isn’t it, to have lasted as long, across all the years of learning and knowing, adventures and [illegible word], and also to have your childlike curiosity, the drive to make a difference and the solace of friends.” A spokesperson for Clinton declined to comment on the note, referring to a prior statement that the former president had severed ties with Epstein more than a decade before his 2019 arrest and was unaware of his criminal activities.

Vera Wang’s contribution to the album reportedly included a lighthearted suggestion that Epstein star on the reality show The Bachelor and an invitation for a shopping trip. Wang has not publicly responded to the report.

The album, professionally bound with a table of contents and categorized sections such as “Friends,” “Business,” “Science,” “Brooklyn,” and “Family,” also featured messages from billionaire investor Leon Black, media mogul Mortimer Zuckerman, former Victoria’s Secret executive Les Wexner, and others. Some notes contained suggestive or crude content, including a poem from Black referencing Epstein’s romantic pursuits and a drawing from Wexner depicting a woman’s breasts. Both Black and Wexner declined to comment.

The revelation follows a prior Wall Street Journal report about a letter allegedly written by President Donald Trump for the same album, which included a suggestive message and a drawing of a naked woman. Trump has denied the authenticity of the letter, calling it “fake” and filing a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal, its parent company, and owner Rupert Murdoch.

Epstein, a financier and convicted sex offender, died in a Manhattan jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges. His death, officially ruled a suicide, has fueled widespread speculation and conspiracy theories. Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted in 2021 of assisting Epstein’s trafficking network, is serving a 20-year prison sentence.

The birthday album, part of Epstein’s estate, has been reviewed by Justice Department officials in prior investigations, with digital copies circulating among authorities. The resurfacing of these documents continues to draw attention to Epstein’s connections with high-profile individuals, prompting renewed calls from both Republicans and Democrats for the release of remaining Epstein-related files.

As the public and legal scrutiny of Epstein’s network persists, the birthday album serves as a stark reminder of the disgraced financier’s once-formidable influence among global elites.

VIDEO:Chuck E. Cheese Mascot Arrested in Credit Card Fraud Scandal in Tallahassee 10

Tallahassee, Florida – A children’s birthday party at a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant turned chaotic on July 23, 2025, when Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) officers arrested an employee dressed as the iconic mouse mascot for credit card fraud, leaving families and children stunned. The suspect, identified as Jermell J. Jones, 41, was apprehended in full costume, with viral photos and videos capturing officers escorting the handcuffed “Chuck E.” out of the restaurant at 2810 Sharer Road.

According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by USA TODAY, the incident stemmed from a report filed by Michelle Allen, who noticed unauthorized charges totaling $105.57 on her child support Visa debit card between July 3 and July 22, 2025. Allen had last used the card at a child’s birthday party at the same Chuck E. Cheese location on June 28. After obtaining security footage from Don’s Grocery & Meats, one of the businesses where the fraudulent charges occurred, Allen identified Jones, a Chuck E. Cheese employee, as the individual using her card. She met officers in the restaurant’s parking lot on July 3 to report the theft and returned on July 23 to press charges.

TPD officers initially identified Jones as the employee checking stamps at the front desk. However, when they returned to make the arrest, another employee informed them that Jones was now in the Chuck E. Cheese mascot costume. According to the affidavit, Officer Jarrett Cruz approached Jones, stating, “Chuck E, come with me, Chuck E,” before grabbing his arm. Jones reportedly tensed up and resisted, prompting officers to handcuff him in the restaurant for the safety of customers, himself, and the officers. A search revealed the stolen card in Jones’ possession, according to TPD spokesperson Alicia Hill.

Jones was charged with three felonies: theft of a credit card, criminal use of personal identification information, and fraudulent use of a credit card more than twice within six months. This was not Jones’ first alleged offense, as police noted a similar incident within the past six months. He was booked at Leon County Detention Facility and released on a $1,000 bond the following morning, per Leon County court records.

The arrest, captured on video by patrons and shared widely on social media, sparked outrage and debate. One Facebook user, Chuck Hobbs, posted, “Ok, Tallahassee Police Department, y’all couldn’t let this man change out of his Chuck E. Cheese costume before arresting him in front of those kids?” A TikTok clip by user @courtneygooddd, showing officers removing the mascot’s head to reveal Jones, garnered nearly 300,000 likes in under 24 hours. Hill defended the TPD’s actions, stating to the Tallahassee Democrat that officers intended to arrest Jones discreetly outside but were forced to act publicly due to his resistance.

Allison Chouinard, a representative for Chuck E. Cheese’s parent company, CEC Entertainment, told USA TODAY, “We are aware of an incident involving a part-time employee arrested at our Tallahassee location on Wednesday, July 23. We have taken the appropriate action concerning the subject employee.” The company emphasized that the incident was unrelated to its operations, with one employee telling the Tallahassee Democrat, “It’s unfortunate that it happened here.”

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) is also investigating multiple Chuck E. Cheese locations in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Pinellas counties for potential credit card skimming devices on point-of-sale systems, raising concerns about broader security issues at the chain. FDACS advises customers to monitor their accounts, report suspicious charges, change PINs, and consider credit freezes to prevent further fraud.

The incident has left a mark on the family-friendly chain’s reputation, with social media users joking, “Y’all think he ratted?” and others lamenting the trauma for children witnessing their beloved mascot’s arrest. As the investigation continues, the surreal image of “Chuck E. Cheese” in handcuffs remains a stark reminder of the unexpected places where crime can surface.
