VGMA explains why Stonebwoy is nominated without Shatta Wale

Date:

Ghanaian dancehall Musician Stonebwoy is back on the nominees list after two years of not participating in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2022.

In the list Stonebwoy was nominated for the Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year category and Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year. Two of his hit songs were nominated for the category – ‘1Gad’ and Greedy Men

Stonebwoy is also up for the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year

This comes after the VGMA board lifted the ban it placed on Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale in 2019 following the altercation between them during the 2019 edition.

Meanwhile, Shatta Wale is yet to make the list.

A representative from Charterhouse speaking on Hitfm host Andy Dosty he explained that Stonebwoy w showed interest in the award scheme and that is why he got nominated but Shatta Wale never approached Charterhouse nor showed interest in any form

We only nominate an artist with his or her consent and if you show no interest the board cannot put you on the awards scheme he lamented that there is nothing like snitching here.
