South African High Commission in Ghana Announces Online Visa Applications

Date:

The South African High Commission in Ghana has announced that Ghanaian citizens can now apply for visas to South Africa online. This is a welcome development for Ghanaians who are looking to travel to South Africa for business, tourism, or other purposes.

To apply for a South African visa online, Ghanaian citizens will need to visit the website of the South African Department of Home Affairs. On the website, they will need to create an account and fill out an online visa application form. They will also need to upload scanned copies of their passport, passport photo, and other required documents.

Once the visa application has been submitted, it will be processed by the South African Department of Home Affairs. If the application is approved, the applicant will be issued an eVisa, which can be downloaded and printed. The eVisa must be presented at the port of entry into South Africa.

The South African High Commission in Ghana has reminded Ghanaians that the normal visa requirements will still apply, even to those who apply online. These requirements include having a valid passport, a letter of invitation or proof of accommodation, and a bank statement.

The South African High Commission has also urged Ghanaians to collect their passports from VFS Global Offices if they have been at the High Commission for more than 3 months.

The introduction of online visa applications for Ghanaian citizens is a positive step that will make it easier and more convenient for Ghanaians to travel to South Africa. It is also a reflection of the strong relationship between Ghana and South Africa.
