Massive Haul of Counterfeit Cash and Gold Bars in Sapeiman

Date:

In a shocking revelation from Sapeiman, Ghana, National Security operatives have intercepted what appears to be one of the largest hauls of counterfeit currency and illicit goods in recent times. On February 9, 2025, twelve 20ft shipping containers were discovered, brimming with fake US dollars, Ghanaian cedi notes, and gold bars suspected to be part of a major smuggling operation.

The raid not only uncovered the monetary counterfeits but also included a cache of fake Ghana Army uniforms and boots, suggesting an intent to impersonate military personnel. Of the containers inspected, ten were found to contain these illegal items, while two remain unaccounted for, triggering an urgent manhunt for the individuals behind this operation.

This incident in Sapeiman highlights the persistent challenge of financial crimes and smuggling within Ghana. The National Security forces are now on high alert, coordinating efforts to locate the missing containers and apprehend those responsible.
