Five students of the Gomoa Potsin T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School in Ghana have been arrested for stabbing 12 of their classmates. The attack took place on the night of September 8, 2023, and is believed to have been in retaliation for an earlier altercation between two students.
The attackers, who were mostly Form 3 students, stormed the Form 2 dormitory at night and attacked the students while they were sleeping. They used knives, clubs, and flashlights to injure their victims.
Twelve students were injured in the attack, and were rushed to the Potsin Polyclinic for treatment. One student was also attacked on his way back to campus from town, and his mobile phone was stolen.
The school’s security team and the Potsin Neighborhood Watch Committee responded swiftly to the attacks, and the five suspects were arrested. They have been handed over to the Gomoa Potsin police for further investigations.
School authorities have remained silent on the incident, but sources close to Citi News say that the parents of the suspects have been invited to the school and a committee is being set up to investigate the matter.
