ET Mensah, former Ningo Prampram MP, dies aged 77

Enoch Teye Mensah, a former Ghanaian politician and Minister of Education, has died at the age of 77. He passed away in South Africa on October 2, 2023, after a battle with illness.

Mensah was a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and served as a Member of Parliament for the Ningo-Prampram constituency from 1997 to 2017. He also served as Minister of Youth and Sports from 1993 to 2001, Minister of Employment and Social Welfare from 2010 to 2011, and Minister of Education from 2011 to 2016.

In addition to his political career, Mensah was also a successful businessman and served as the Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) during the PNDC military regime in Ghana.

Mensah was a highly respected figure in Ghanaian politics and society. He was known for his commitment to public service and his dedication to improving the lives of Ghanaians.

His death is a major loss to Ghana and his legacy will be remembered for years to come.
