A mobile phone trader based at Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra, Nana Yaw Kyere, popularly known as Dinero or Terry, has been found dead in Teshie.
A relative confirmed that the body was discovered on the morning of Thursday, 24 September 2026, after an alleged attempt to set it alight failed. The remains have been deposited at the morgue as investigations continue.
Kyere had been reported missing days earlier after travelling to Teshie to complete a phone business transaction. Before contact was lost, he reportedly messaged a close friend via WhatsApp claiming he had been “set up,” shared his location, and in some accounts sent a photo of a room. Those details were later deleted from the chat. His Honda Civic was subsequently recovered, and at least three suspects were arrested by police in connection with the case.
Family members issued a statement confirming that Kyere had been located but was not found alive. They appealed for privacy while investigations proceed. The precise cause of death and full circumstances have not been publicly established, and the Ghana Police Service had not issued a detailed official statement at the time of the initial reports.
Kyere was well known among traders in the busy Circle phone market. Friends and associates in the community have expressed shock at the developments. Further updates are expected as the police probe continues.
