The University of Mississippi community, particularly the members of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority, are mourning the loss of freshman Gianna ‘Gigi’ Solimine. The sorority announced her passing in a heartfelt statement, highlighting the significant impact she had during her brief time as a sister.
“It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of our sister, Gigi Solimine (Lambda Pi, University of Mississippi). Gigi was a freshman who joined Alpha Chi Omega this past fall. In her short time with us, she brought immense joy to our sisterhood,” the statement conveyed.
Alpha Chi Omega praised Gigi for her vibrant personality, kindness, and purity of heart. “The world was a better place with you in it, and we miss you dearly… Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with Gigi’s close friends and family during this difficult time,” they added.
As of now, the cause of Gigi’s death has not been disclosed, with no further official statements released. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
Gigi Solimine began her studies at the University of Mississippi in the Fall of 2024.
