Manchester United winger Antony remains on indefinite leave from the club despite flying back into the UK on Tuesday.
The Brazilian is facing allegations of domestic abuse, with police investigations opening in Brazil and the UK. Antony has denied any wrongdoing.
Antony and United mutually agreed an indefinite leave of absence from the club in September to allow the player to address the allegations.
It was initially reported that Antony would return to England after the international break, but The Sun reports that he will remain on leave for the foreseeable future.
It is understood that Antony is willing to answer questions from Greater Manchester Police voluntarily.
United have not commented on Antony’s current situation.
The 23-year-old joined United from Ajax in the summer of 2022 for a fee of £80.6 million. He has made 48 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals.
Antony’s indefinite leave of absence is a major blow for United, who are struggling for form. The Red Devils are currently seventh in the Premier League table, 12 points behind leaders Arsenal.
It is unclear when Antony will be able to return to action for United. The club will likely wait for the outcome of the police investigations before making a decision.
