The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) says it is still awaiting the laboratory report on the analyses of samples taken from Marwako restaurant following suspected cases of food poisoning.
Some 53 persons, said to have patronised the East Legon outlet of the restaurant, were hospitalised last week due to suspected cases of food poisoning.
This forced the FDA to close down three of Marwako’s outlets for further investigations.
On Friday, May 20, the Authority indicated that it is still awaiting the results of the lab samples to aid the ongoing corrective measures ordered to be rolled out.
It said management and key staff of Marwako have been invited for a progress report on the root cause of the incident and measures put in place to avoid a future recurrence.
The Authority also indicated that its officials have visited the facilities and will do so periodically until the corrective measures are completed.
It assured that it will let the public know when the reports are ready.
