Highland, Utah resident and cherished actor/performer Cameron Ward has passed away, as announced by West Valley Arts. The nonprofit organization, known for nurturing talent in the performing arts, honored Ward’s legacy in a heartfelt statement.
“It is with deep sadness that West Valley Arts acknowledges the passing of Cameron Ward, a talented actor and dear friend,” the statement read. “Cameron brought warmth, passion, and an unforgettable presence to every role he played and so much kindness to the lives of those who knew him.”
Ward, who studied at Utah Valley University after graduating from Lone Peak High, began his acting career as a child. His early performances were with the Timpanogos Youth Theatre in American Fork, UT, where he featured in numerous productions since 2013. His final role there was as Kristoff in “Frozen Jr.” in 2020.
Throughout his career, Ward graced stages at various theaters including Hale Center Theater Orem, Sundance, the Scera, and notably with West Valley Arts among others.
Described by friends as kind and affable, Ward was known for his ever-present smile and appreciation for the smallest gestures. West Valley Arts highlighted his professionalism, skill, dedication to his craft, and his deep love for music.
“Getting to know Cameron in a theater setting revealed his fearless agility, dependable capability, and extraordinary talent,” said Kate Rufener, Chair of the West Valley Arts Board of Trustees. “But his stalwart kindness, thoughtfulness, and humility will stand as inspiration for all who worked with and knew him in any capacity. He will forever be in our hearts as the memory of him continues to shine.”
Cameron Ward’s impact on the local theater community will be remembered and celebrated by all who had the privilege of watching him perform or sharing the stage with him.
