Violent scenes at the University of Ghana 2

Countryghana has received numerous reports of a violent altercation between two fighting groups on the University of Ghana campus.

Videos Countryghana has in its hands show the two factions throwing stones at each other on opposite sides of a roadway in the evening, though it is unclear what specifically sparked the violent battles.

The Commonwealth Hall and the Mensah Sarbah Hall, two halls noted for their historical rivalry, are also said to have gotten into a fight.

According to a witness, the statue of John Mensah Sarbah was also smashed in the process.

He further said that although four police patrol cars showed up on the scene, they had no choice but to park far away and observe the ongoing altercations.

“Commonwealth removed the statue’s remaining components. Four police trucks simply parked at the UG guesthouse and stayed there overnight. utterly no intervention After the event has concluded, they are getting closer to the scene.

He explained, “The students are hooting at them.

The chaos generated by the students was eventually put to an end when a vehicle was set on fire.

However, the police have not yet made an official comment regarding the incident.
