Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, popularly known as Strika for his role in the acclaimed film “Beasts of No Nation,” has publicly refuted accusations of theft that led to his removal from the Akabenezer team led by comic actor Dr Likee, also known as Ras Nene. The allegations were made by Gunshot, a member of the team, who claimed Strika stole a mobile phone and cash.
In a recent live session on TikTok, Strika vehemently denied the accusations, declaring them as part of a calculated effort to damage his image and derail his career. He highlighted his background, having grown up on the streets of Ghana, and his ongoing struggle to rebuild his life, particularly addressing his past with substance abuse and homelessness.
Strika passionately stated, “I’m from the streets. I grew up on the streets… It takes time, and I keep trying for myself. But still, they said I’d stolen a phone. That’s a lie,” aiming to set the record straight and protect his reputation. He announced his plans to use various media outlets to share his perspective and clarify the circumstances surrounding his departure from the acting group.
The contrast between Strika’s current situation and the success of his “Beast of No Nation” co-star, Abraham Attah, who has made a name for himself in the United States, has not gone unnoticed. While Attah’s career has flourished, Strika’s path has been fraught with challenges, with this latest incident marking another low point.
The video from Strika’s TikTok session, where he addresses these allegations, has been making rounds on social media, with the public expressing mixed sentiments. Some are sympathetic to Strika’s plight, understanding the complexities of overcoming street life, while others remain skeptical, awaiting more evidence or a resolution to the conflict.
