Shatta Wale Granted GH₵10 Million Bail Amid Lamborghini Investigation

Ghanaian dancehall sensation Shatta Wale has been granted bail of GH₵10 million with two sureties following his detention by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) in connection with an ongoing investigation into a luxury Lamborghini Urus vehicle.

The artiste, whose real name is Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., voluntarily appeared before EOCO on Wednesday, August 20, accompanied by his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo, to assist with inquiries surrounding the tax obligations of the high-end vehicle and the operations of his business entities.

The Lamborghini, a 2019 model, was previously seized from Shatta Wale’s residence in Trassaco Valley as part of a broader probe initiated by EOCO in collaboration with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice. Authorities allege that the vehicle may be linked to criminal proceeds involving Nana Kwabena Amuah, a Ghanaian currently serving an 86-month sentence in the United States for financial crimes.

In a statement, EOCO confirmed that Shatta Wale is not currently facing criminal charges but remains a person of interest. The agency also indicated that further questioning may be required as investigations continue.

Shatta Wale’s management team, led by Samuel Atuobi Baah (Sammy Flex), assured fans that the artiste is cooperating fully with authorities and urged the public to refrain from speculation. “We have the utmost confidence in the judicial process,” Baah stated.

The case has drawn widespread attention across Ghana’s entertainment and legal communities, with many watching closely as the inquiry unfolds. For now, Shatta Wale remains free on bail, pending further developments.
