Prophet Ogyaba Praises Wife’s Loyalty Amid Infidelity Scandal: “I Got To Know I Had a Good Wife After My Issue Came Up

My wife has been consoling me, she mocked 'childish' ex-side chick for trying to replace her – Ogyaba

Prophet Dr. Emmanuel Akwasi Boakye, widely known as Prophet Ogyaba, has publicly lauded his wife, Abigail Boakye, for her unwavering support following his highly publicized extramarital affair with a church singer named Cassie. The founder of Holiness of Christ Zion Ministry stirred controversy in January 2025 when he admitted to cheating on his wife, sparking widespread criticism and debate across Ghanaian media and social platforms. Despite the backlash, Ogyaba credits the scandal with revealing the strength of his marriage, stating, “I got to know I had a good wife after my issue came up.”

The scandal erupted when Cassie, a former member of Ogyaba’s congregation, took to TikTok to expose their affair, alleging that the prophet impregnated her and showered her with gifts, including GH₵8,000 for a fridge and funding for a visa to travel abroad. She claimed to have lived in Ogyaba’s East Legon residence, meant for his wife during her visits to Accra, and accused him of maltreatment and impregnating his secretary. Ogyaba confirmed the affair but denied additional allegations, such as sleeping with teenagers or using “juju” in his ministry, asserting, “I am a human being with blood running through my veins. I am not going to be the first man of God to make a mistake.” He further claimed Cassie attempted to extort him, citing expenditures of over GH₵370,000, including rent and furnishings, to appease her demands.

In a viral video, Ogyaba recounted how his wife responded to Cassie’s accusations with remarkable composure, dismissing them as “childish” and laughing off the idea that Cassie sought to “overtake” her as his wife. “When my wife saw the videos from the girl, she called her childish. We laughed about it, and that was the end of our discussion,” he shared on TikTok. He explained that he confessed the affair to Abigail after Cassie sent her a text, and after begging for forgiveness, his wife accepted his apology, strengthening their bond. “My wife told me Cassie thought she was coming to destroy her home, but this issue has rather strengthened her to put her house in order,” Ogyaba added.

The couple’s public appearances since the scandal, including a widely shared video of them shopping for a new phone for Abigail in Kumasi, have showcased her seemingly unshaken demeanor. Ogyaba noted that their child had damaged Abigail’s phone, prompting the purchase at Kumasi City Mall. The footage, capturing Abigail’s smiles, drew mixed reactions online, with some praising her loyalty and others questioning her response. Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, known as Nana Agradaa, warned Ogyaba to be cautious, suggesting Abigail’s support might mask a “hidden agenda” and that “no woman who truly loves her husband would make light of a situation like this.” Agradaa’s remarks fueled further debate, with some netizens echoing her skepticism, while others admired Abigail’s resilience.

Ogyaba has since used the scandal to address his congregation, preaching about loyalty and weeding out “fake church members” during a service, stating, “Sometimes when issues like this pop up, you get to know that it will eliminate fake church members and the toxic people around me.” He expressed gratitude to his loyal congregants and reaffirmed his commitment to his wife, quoting Ephesians 5:25: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church.” On July 20, 2025, he honored Abigail on her birthday with an intimate celebration, thanking her for standing by him “when I fell down kwatakwata in my anointing.”

The saga has divided opinions. While some, like media personality Xandy Kamel, downplayed the affair as a human failing, others, including Prophet Kofi Oduro, condemned Ogyaba’s actions as a “disgrace to Christianity.” Social media reactions range from support for his honesty—“The glory will never depart from him, God has already forgiven him”—to criticism of his leadership: “Papa, please respect yourself, you are a leader.” Relationship counselor Rose Aboagyewaa Adjei advised Abigail against divorce, urging her to remain prayerful during this challenging time.
