In a fiery response to public scrutiny, Prophet Emmanuel Akwasi Boakye, popularly known as Prophet Ogyaba, has taken to social media to defend himself against criticisms following his widely publicized relationship with Lady Cassie.

In a video statement that has quickly circulated online, Ogyaba accused his detractors of hypocrisy, suggesting that many lack the personal hygiene to even “bath” properly. He stated, “Those insulting me, some don’t even bath,” emphasizing that his critics have no moral standing to judge him given their supposed lack of basic self-care practices.

The prophet, who has become a focal point of social media discussions, further lambasted his critics as being financially unstable, implying that their economic situation prevents them from affording decent hygiene products. “Such broke guys on social media have no right to chastise or rebuke me for doing an ungodly act, regardless,” he commented, defending his actions in light of his lavish spending related to the affair.

Ogyaba revealed he had spent a significant amount on his relationship with Cassie, including 60,000ghc on rent for an apartment and an additional 40,000ghc on electronics and furnishings, which he attributed to preventing public exposure of the affair.

The controversy has dominated Ghanaian social media, with numerous users sharing their opinions on the matter, ranging from support to severe condemnation of Ogyaba’s behavior. The discourse has highlighted a broader conversation about morality, the responsibilities of religious leaders, and public accountability.

As the debate rages on, it remains to be seen how this will affect Ogyaba’s ministry and public image. Critics argue that his response does little to address the ethical concerns raised by his actions, while supporters might see this as a bold defense against what they perceive as unwarranted attacks.
