President Akufo-Addo has instructed Colonel (Rtd) Kwadjo Damoah to delegate his responsibilities to one of his deputies because Colonel Damoah’s contract of service has expired. Colonel Damoah and Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyabeng are at odds over the LaBianca Customs advanced ruling issue.

Colonel Damoah was given the order last Friday, August 26, 2022.

According to a letter from the Secretary to the President Nana Asante Bediatuo, “Following the expiration of your contract of service as Commissioner (Customs Division) of the Ghana Revenue Authority on October 13, 2021, the President of the Republic has directed that effective Friday, August 26, 2022, you hand over your duties and office to the acting Deputy Commissioner (Preventive Division)…

Col. Damoah and the Special Prosecutor have been at odds since the Special Prosecutor accused him of participating in a Customs advanced decision that unfairly favored importers of frozen products, the LaBianca Company.
