Pastor Oduro Advises Women: Stop Cooking and Cleaning for Unmarried Partners

Ghanaian pastor, Prophet Oduro, has sent a clear message to women, advising them against performing traditional wifely duties like cooking and cleaning for men they are not married to. He argues that these cultural practices, while common in Ghana, can lead to women being underappreciated in romantic relationships.

In Ghanaian society, it’s customary for women to demonstrate their suitability for marriage through domestic tasks. Cooking, cleaning, and similar chores are viewed as expressions of love and dedication. However, Pastor Oduro warns that this approach might backfire.

During a sermon, Oduro stated, “Ladies, stop playing the role of a wife to a man who has not married you. When you do everything for him, he has no incentive to marry you. Why will he pay for the cow when he is getting the milk for free?” His point is that by providing all the benefits of marriage without the commitment, women might inadvertently encourage men to remain unmarried, taking these services for granted.

Pastor Oduro suggests that by withholding these domestic services until a commitment is made, women could potentially prompt their partners to take the step towards marriage rather than settling into complacency.
