Nigerian Hairdresser Sets Guinness World Record for Longest Handmade Wig

Nigerian Hairdresser Sets Guinness World Record for Longest Handmade Wig – A Nigerian hairdresser has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest handmade wig. Helen Williams from Lagos created the incredible 351.28-meter (1,152-foot, 5-inch) wig, which is over three times the length of a football field.

Williams spent 11 days and over two million naira (£2,031; $2,493) making the wig, which is made from real human hair. She said she was inspired to create the record-breaking wig to showcase her skills and promote Nigerian hairdressing.

“I am very excited to have set this record,” Williams said. “I hope it will inspire other hairdressers to never give up on their dreams.”

The Guinness World Records organization has confirmed the record, and Williams will be presented with an official certificate. The wig will be on display at the Guinness World Records museum in Lagos.

Williams’s achievement is a testament to her dedication, skill, and creativity. It is also a reminder of the talent and innovation that can be found in Africa.

Additional details:

  • Williams is a self-taught hairdresser who has been working in the industry for over 15 years.
  • She is also the founder of a hairdressing training school in Lagos.
  • Williams is a passionate advocate for the use of natural hair in wigs and other hair products.

Congratulations to Helen Williams on her incredible achievement!
