In a strongly worded disclaimer released through Opemsuo 104.7 FM on Wednesday, the Palace urged the general public to completely disregard circulating reports and rumors linking Manhyia to the preparations for the musician’s burial and funeral rites.
The full disclaimer reads:
“Manhyia urges the general public to disregard any reports attempting to associate the Palace with matters concerning the preparations for the burial and funeral rites of Mr. Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.”
The statement comes amid intense social media speculation following the visit of some family members to the Palace earlier this week, with several unverified reports claiming that the Asantehene’s court had intervened or issued directives on the contentious burial issue.
By issuing this public disclaimer, Manhyia Palace has made its position clear: it is not part of, nor will it be drawn into, the ongoing family discussions regarding Daddy Lumba’s final funeral rites and burial place.
The development is expected to put an end to the wave of rumors that had suggested the Palace had taken sides in the private family matter.
