Mahama speaks with the US ambassador on the EC’s animosity toward the NDC and other issues

After their encounter, the former president posted updates on the topics they discussed on social media.

In part, his article stated, “I received and conversed with American Ambassador to Ghana, HE Virginia E. Palmer, on subjects of common concern to Ghana and America.

We also reviewed the health of our economy, investments in local businesses, and the Electoral Commission’s animosity toward the NDC, among other topics, including the security situation in the West African region and its ramifications for Ghana.

The Inter-Party Advisory Committee, or IPAC, was previously boycotted by the National Democratic Congress because of disagreements the party had with the EC on a number of subjects.

The party and the EC are currently at odds over the sole use of the Ghana Card for ongoing voter registration.

Leading members have declared that without working with the EC, the ruling New Patriotic Party, or NPP, cannot win credible elections in 2024 that are free and fair.
