Pasadena, CA – William Yost, an Altadena resident and former high school baseball star, has been identified as one of the victims of a tragic wrong-way crash on the 134 Freeway in Pasadena. The incident took place on the morning of January 5th, around 8:10 a.m., on the westbound lanes at North San Rafael Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle mistakenly entered from the San Rafael off-ramp, traveling eastbound in the wrong direction, leading to a catastrophic collision with three other vehicles, including a Honda and a Toyota Prius. The crash resulted in at least one vehicle catching fire, causing the death of two individuals at the scene. Paramedics transported three others to a nearby hospital.
The accident left two vehicles in such a state of disrepair that they were initially unidentifiable. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a white sedan collide with a silver minivan and the other involved cars.
William Yost, aged 31, was one of the confirmed fatalities. He was a graduate of Pasadena High School, class of 2011, where he was known for his prowess on the baseball field. Yost had a humble online presence, describing himself with humor on his social media profile, stating, “I am just a guy like any other guy, but I am about twice as stupid.”
