From Thursday, June 16, 2022, consumers of petroleum products could expect another increase in fuel costs.

According to JoyBusiness, data from the Bulk Oil Distribution Companies indicates that the price of a litre of diesel would increase by 11.14 percent, while the price of a litre of petrol will increase by 13 percent.

As a result, the average price of gasoline is expected to rise by around GH1.33 per litre.

Petrol prices are expected to rise by 11.41 percent to GH1.24 per litre, while diesel prices are expected to rise by 12.93 per cent to GH1.43 per litre.

Petrol is now retailing for around GH10.10 per litre at various gasoline stations, while diesel costs around GH12.20.

Despite a small drop in crude oil prices on the international market, this is owing to rising refinery costs.

It’s unclear whether the BDCs will negotiate with the OMCs to minimize the margin for the increase, but any increase in gasoline prices could drive commercial transportation providers to demand a fare increase.
