In his Christmas message, President-elect John Dramani Mahama urged Ghanaians to hold onto hope, foster unity, and embrace renewal in anticipation of a more promising future. He conveyed his gratitude to the nation for the chance to serve once again as president and commander-in-chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.
“Christmas is a season of hope and inspiration,” Mahama noted, “and as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and the values He lived by, I thank the wonderful citizens of Ghana for the privilege to lead our country forward.” He stressed the significance of the holiday period as a moment for unity and collective advancement.
Mahama outlined his commitment to constructing a Ghana where prosperity, freedom, justice, accountability, and equality are accessible to all its citizens. He wished everyone a joyous holiday, emphasizing the collective responsibility in creating a better Ghana for everyone.
Following his overwhelming win in the 2024 elections, which marked a significant defeat for the incumbent New Patriotic Party, Mahama is scheduled to take the presidential oath on January 7, 2025, commencing his second term in office.
