Following errors, Osafo Maafo has been prohibited from making any public comments on governance.

Osafo MarfoSenior advisor to the president and former senior minister Yaw Osafo Maafo has reportedly received advice from high-ranking members of the Akufo-Addo, Bawumia administration, and New Patriotic Party to refrain from giving media interviews about topics of governance.

According to countryghana.com sources About a month or so ago, Mr. Maafo received a warning to refrain from making public comments on problems of governance. This warning has nothing to do with the present Aisha Huang incident.

Following the reported release of an Osafo Maafo tape in which he allegedly made disparaging remarks about Asante history and attempted to depict Akyems as historically more powerful, the Elders convened and made their choice.

The talk about the functions of different ethnic groups was recorded during the Koforidua NPP Regional Primaries.

According to the Senior Presidential Advisor, the Asantes were not a part of the independence movement, which was led by the Akyems.

Senior NPP members agreed Mr. Osafo Maafo should issue a written apology for the anti-Asante remark and refrain from making any more public comments unless he is giving a scripted speech at a public forum.

He was told to follow the script when speaking at forums because the party was allegedly being harmed by complaints about his statements.

In accordance with the suggestion, the senior presidential advisor to President Akufo-Addo formally apologized for making the racialized remark that cast Asantes in a negative light. He also admitted that he “erred.”

Following the resurgence of the Aisha Huang scandal following the Chinese businesswoman’s detention, Mr. Osafo Maafo’s name is currently trending on social media.
