Family Petitions Ghana’s Ambassador to Denmark for CCTV Footage of Former Footballer’s Death : The family of a former Ghanaian footballer who died in Sweden is petitioning Ghana’s Ambassador to Denmark for access to CCTV footage of the incident.

George Kwame Sasu Anim died on August 25, 2023, at the Best Western Hotel Trollhättan in Stockholm. His family suspects foul play and believes that the CCTV footage will help them understand the circumstances of his death.

In a letter to the ambassador, the family requested footage from two adjacent hotels, a restaurant, and a church near the hotel entrance. They also requested any additional evidence or footage from the neighborhood.

The family said that they had not been given a complete picture of the incident and that they needed the CCTV footage to bring an end to their suspicions and give them closure.

“We understand that obtaining access to such footage is crucial in order to establish the facts and bring closure to this painful chapter for our family,” the letter read.

The family also noted that Sasu Anim’s girlfriend, who was with him at the time of his death, could not remember what happened. This has left them with no option but to seek the help of the embassy.

The family is urging the ambassador to cooperate with their request in the interest of justice and the pursuit of truth.

Sasu Anim was a former footballer and events promoter. He played for several lower-division clubs in Sweden and also hosted a number of Ghanaian and African artists on his shows.

His death has sent shockwaves through the Ghanaian community in Sweden. Many people are calling for a thorough investigation into the incident.

It is hoped that the CCTV footage will help to shed light on the circumstances of Sasu Anim’s death and give his family the closure they need.
