E-Levy: Reverse all wrong deductions GRA warns

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has served notice to all charging entities for the e-levy implementation to ensure that wrong deductions are reversed smoothly.

The GRA made this order in its administrative guidelines for the implementation of the policy which was published on Friday April 29.

The GRA on Friday April 29 published the full administrative guidelines on the implementation of the e-levy.

The document lists the areas in financial transactions that are covered under the policy and the areas that are not.

The e-levy is expected to start on May 1.

“We had some meetings with Controller and Accountant Generals Department (CAGD) and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and they have said right at the beginning of May they should be able to put their system together,” the Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta told TV3’s Roland Walker in Parliament after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo delivered the State of the Nation Address on Wednesday March 30

The GRA on Thursday April 28 modified the phased-approach for the implementation of the e-levy starting May 1.

In a statement, the GRA said “Following the Ghana Revenue Authority’s assessment of the general readiness of some Charging Entities to integrate with the E-levy Management System, the Commissioner General has decided on a modified phased approach for the implementation of the e-levy from 1st May.”
