New York – Rumors of the death of Si Robertson, affectionately known as Uncle Si from the reality TV show “Duck Dynasty,” have circulated online, only to be debunked as another false alarm. The misleading news emerged from a hunting accident that left Robertson hospitalized but very much alive.
The hoax originated from a post on the ‘Back the Badge Wisconsin’ page on Facebook, claiming, “Duck Dynasty’s Uncle Si has passed today. He was 78 years young.” However, this claim was swiftly met with skepticism and corrections from followers of the page.
One top comment clarified, “He was treated and released…may want to verify stuff before you post false info,” while another user expressed frustration, “I’m tired of the fake information this page puts out, research your information before posting it.”
The accident in question happened when Robertson was returning from a hunting trip and, in his characteristic haste, fell while exiting the boat. His co-host on the “Duck Call Room” podcast, Justin Martin, recounted the incident, “Anyway, typical Silas Robertson, in a big dang hurry to get out of the boat and into the Polaris… he fell trying to get out of the boat. Just on the bank there.” He further elaborated on the commonality of such accidents, “If you don’t go off the nose of the boat like the very nose, you will fall. I know this because I have fallen right there.”
This isn’t the first time Robertson has been the subject of a death hoax; four years ago, he had to address similar rumors with a video debunking them. Although no direct response from Uncle Si regarding this recent hoax has surfaced, his co-hosts Phillip McMillan and Justin Martin have confirmed that he is on the mend from his injuries.
Si Robertson, a veteran and former reed maker for Duck Commander, has become a beloved figure through his appearances on A&E’s “Duck Dynasty,” alongside other shows like “Buck Commander” and “The Duckmen of Louisiana” on the Outdoor Channel. His humor and storytelling have endeared him to fans, making these hoaxes particularly distressing for his followers.
