Ghanaian sports journalist and the host of the popular ‘Fire for Fire’ sports show, Countryman Songo, has lambasted GFA President Kurt Okraku following his meeting with Southampton defender, Mohammed Salisu.
The Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku, on his visit to the UK paid a visit to the Ghanaian defender to convince him to represent the Black Stars in subsequent matches.
It’s been years since the defender has been rejecting Black Stars call-ups over what the GFA allegedly did to him when he was facing a ban in football from FIFA.
For the past 2 years, every international football break gets the football industry in Ghana talking about Salisu and how he keeps rejecting Ghana.
Songo who was privy to the meeting with the Southampton defender lamented that the recent meeting between Mr. Okraku and Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu was unwarranted.
He said: “What has the FA President got to offer us that he met Salisu and tried to convince him to play for the Black Stars. Has the boy told him he would not play for the Black Stars?”
The Adom TV presenter said the GFA should rather focus on their core mandate and stop interfering with issues that are the preserve of coaches.
“Their ways of selecting players and taking documents from players to compromise them to play, that is what they have to stop.
