Circuit Court Sentences Man to 5 Years for Destroying Vehicles at Parliament House

Christopher Kofi Okyere Sorkpa, a 33-year-old self-proclaimed preacher man, has been sentenced to five years in prison for damaging vehicles at Parliament House. He received a three-year sentence for conspiracy to commit unlawful damage and five years for each of the six counts of unlawful damage, with the sentences to run concurrently.

Sorkpa was convicted of using an earth chisel to damage cars belonging to Members of Parliament and staff, including two Toyota V8 SUVs, two Toyota Camry sedans, and one Rav 4 SUV.

His accomplice, Wisdom Ahli, has been remanded in police custody due to flawed charges. The prosecution has requested an adjournment to revise the charges, with the case set to continue on January 9, 2025.
