Championship boxer Paul Bamba passed away at the age of 35, a fact confirmed by his manager, singer Ne-Yo, on December 27.

Ne-Yo, alongside Bamba’s family, shared the somber news through an Instagram post, expressing their deep sorrow. The statement read, “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of beloved son, brother, friend and boxing champion Paul Bamba, whose light and love touched countless lives.”

They described Bamba as “a fierce yet confident competitor with an unrelenting ambition to achieve greatness,” highlighting his exceptional drive and determination that inspired many. His family and Ne-Yo requested privacy during this period of mourning, noting they were “heartbroken” by his untimely departure. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.

Just days before his death, on December 21, Bamba had achieved a significant milestone by winning the WBA Gold Cruiserweight title in New Jersey. Reflecting on his journey and success, he shared a motivational message on Instagram on December 24:

“This year I set out with a goal. I did just that! It wasn’t easy there were many obstacles that I adapted to overcome and stayed on the path we set regardless of extenuating circumstances,” he wrote.

He celebrated his achievements, stating, “14 fights 14 knockouts ending with the WBA GOLD cruiserweight world title,” and encouraged others to pursue their dreams, saying, “That being said if you got what some might call an ‘outlandish goal’ GO chase it. Anyone who thinks that isn’t as brave as you, prove people wrong!”

Bamba’s sudden passing has left the boxing community and his fans in shock and mourning, remembering him not only for his athletic prowess but also for his inspiring spirit.
