The Montana high school wrestling community is in mourning following the tragic death of Brynn Courville, a celebrated young wrestler from Ronan. The 15-year-old was killed in a four-vehicle crash on Friday, January 3, near Evaro Hill in Missoula.
According to reports, the accident occurred when a southbound semi-truck on Highway 93 near mile marker 5 lost control, jackknifed, and crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with a GMC Sierra. The impact resulted in the immediate deaths of the teenage driver and his passenger, identified as Courville. The driver of the GMC, a 19-year-old from Columbia Falls, also perished in the crash.
Brynn Courville was known for her prowess on the wrestling mat, representing Ronan Wrestling Club with distinction. In an emotional tribute on their official Facebook page, the club shared over 30 photos of Courville, highlighting her skills and spirit. They described her as not only a talented athlete but also a beloved member of the community, stating, “It was our honor to have the privilege of watching Brynn wrestle. She was an exceptional athlete who brought a lot of talent to the sport of wrestling… We are thankful for the time we were able to see this amazing athlete perform and thankful for the incredible memories.”
