In a pre-game ceremony before the Canucks’ 50th season home opening on October 9, 2019, Horvat was introduced as the franchise’s 14th captain. Horvat’s 100th career goal came on October 20 against the New York Rangers, assisting the Canucks in a 3-2 victory.
