The royal families of the Ewe and Ashanti in one location for a momentous occasion! That’s what will take place in a short while.

To commemorate the 2022 Hogbetsotso Festival in the Volta Region, the Ashanti King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, will meet the Ewe Paramount Chief, Awoemefia Togbi Sri III, on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

It might be included in the historical works that describe the enduring goodwill relations with Ashanti and Ewe monarchs.

The Awoemefia, who is the Paramount Chief of all Anlo States, invited Otumfuo Osei Tutu, the Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, Paramount Chief of Kwahu Traditional Area, Daasebre Akumoah Agyapong II, and the current King Agorkoli to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the historical festival this year.

There will be a total of 211 people, although CountryGhana is unable to independently authenticate the veracity or otherwise of the list.

According to the list, there will be 10 Kyineyetufo, 1 Apimasantan, 1 Sika Akua, 4 Sanaafo, 10 Afotosanfo, 10 Abenasanfo, 10 Nsumankwafo, 6 Asomfo, and 8 Nseneefo. There will also be 25 Afenasoafo/Atuntufo.

The remaining are 3 Somisisi, 5 Adwareye, 5 each for Adum and Abrafuo, 4 Danponmu/Papahufuo, 8 Ahoprafuo, and 10 Akyemfuo. 4 Mpebi/Nkrawi, 4 Apeede, 4 Kwadwomfuo, 10 Fontomfrom/Atumpan, 10 Fontomfromsuafuo, and 2 Animuyesum. 10 Nyahera and 2 Drugya.

The remaining individuals are 2 Camera Men, 3 Video Men, 5 Mentiahyenfuo, 10 Kokwanagya, and 6 Sodoofuo.

“60 Years of Anlo Hogbetsotso Za: Uniting for Development, Sustaining our Unique Cultural Commonwealth for Future Generations” is the topic of the festival.

The Anlos have been celebrating the Hogbetsotso Festival, a migratory festival, for a long time.

Additionally, it serves to bring Anlo citizens together both domestically and internationally. Many people go from far and wide to attend this major event to view the exquisite exhibition of culture and tradition.
