Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez has expressed confidence that the club will be able to sign Brazilian striker Vitor Roque in January, despite financial concerns.

Roque, who is 18 years old, is one of the most promising young players in South America. He has already scored 12 goals in 20 appearances for Athletico Paranaense in the Brazilian Serie A this season.

Barcelona agreed a deal to sign Roque in July, but the deal is not expected to be completed until January due to financial restrictions.

Xavi is confident that the deal will go through in January.

“Deco told me that Vitor Roque will arrive in January,” Xavi said in a press conference on Friday. “I don’t see any issue for his transfer.

“He’s a very good player with a lot of potential. He’s young, but he’s already scoring goals at a high level. I’m sure he can help us a lot.”

Barcelona are in need of a new striker, as Robert Lewandowski is the only senior striker in the squad.

Roque is a versatile striker who can play through the middle or on the wing. He is also a good dribbler and passer.

If Barcelona are able to sign Roque in January, it will be a major coup for the club. He is one of the most exciting young players in the world and has the potential to be a star at Camp Nou.
