Singer-songwriter Alan Eugene Jackson was born in the United States on 17 October 1958. He is known for writing many of his own songs and singing in a genre sometimes referred to as “neo-traditional country”.
Jackson has released three greatest hits collections, two holiday albums and two gospel albums in addition to his 16 studio albums.
One of the best-selling musicians of all time, Jackson has sold over 75 million records worldwide, including 44 million in the US alone. In total, 66 of his songs – including six featured singles – have appeared on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks list. Of those 66 songs, 38 have been in the top five and 35 have had a number one debut.
Nine of his 15 albums to reach the Billboard Top Country Albums chart have gone multi-platinum. He has won two Grammy Awards, 16 CMA Awards, 17 CMA Awards and has been nominated for numerous other awards.

His magnificent 18,622 square foot antebellum estate, Sweetbriar, was based on Tara in Gone With the Wind.
Jackson’s other property interests included a magnificent lakeside estate in his native Georgia.
He also owned, and sold in March 2021, an opulent 22,012 square foot hilltop residence outside of Nashville.
Jackson’s 135-acre, 18,622-square-foot plantation-style mansion is located in Franklin, Tennessee, an affluent rural area west of Nashville.
Formal dining and living rooms, a home office with maple floors, a spacious family area with 22-foot ceilings, a gourmet kitchen with adjoining breakfast room and a glass-enclosed porch on the first floor are all part of this stunning home.

The home was one of Nashville’s most expensive private home transactions, selling for $28 million in 2010.
