In the Western Region’s Sekondi, a pregnant woman in her fifth month of pregnancy lost her life after falling into a well.
The event reportedly occurred on Tuesday as Efua Amoaba, 38, was going to the well to get water.
Although the dead fell into the well on Tuesday, James Obeng Jr., the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan NADMO Coordinator, stated in an interview that her body was recovered on Wednesday.
He clarified that this was the case since Madam Amoaba’s family initially believed she was gone before learning that someone had fallen into a well.
The family then went to the scene to make sure it was really their relative.
The Ghana National Fire Service was then contacted, and they arrived at the location to remove her body.
The body was taken to the Effia Nkawnta Mortuary, according to Mr. Obeng, who said that the police, who were present on the scene, did a preliminary inquiry.
Up until her passing, Efua Amoaba was a mother of two and a fish seller.
