Archbishop Chapelle High School, an all-girls Catholic institution in Metairie, Louisiana, has announced a vigil in response to a harrowing family tragedy that has left one of its students, 13-year-old Tien Bohne, orphaned.

In an incident that has shaken the River Ridge community, Glenn Bohne, 46, allegedly killed his wife, Dung Pham, 40, and their two-year-old daughter, Amy Bohne, in their home on Stephen Drive on Saturday, January 18.

According to Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, Bohne also shot his two other daughters. One, aged 9, was taken to Children’s Hospital in critical condition, while the eldest, Tien, managed to call 911 amidst the chaos.

Sheriff’s deputies responded swiftly to the scene after the emergency call. Glenn Bohne was later encountered by law enforcement; he was shot and killed by deputies after he allegedly attempted to wield a weapon.

Sheriff Joe Lopinto has stated that the motives behind this devastating act remain under investigation, with no prior indications of such violence from the family noted by neighbors.

In a statement, Archbishop Chapelle High School expressed profound sorrow over the incident. “The entire Archbishop Chapelle High School community is deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred this morning,” the school said. “In solidarity with the outpouring of support from other church communities, Chappelle will hold a prayer service for 8th grader Tien Bohne and her family on the day we return to school.”
