Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, better known by his stage name AKA, was a talented South African rapper born and raised in Cape Town. He rose to fame after the release of his debut single ‘Victory Lap’, taken from his first studio album Altar Ego, in 2011.
Throughout his career, AKA has continued to release critically acclaimed albums, including Levels (2014), Touch My Blood (2018), Bhovamania (2020) and the collaborative album Be Careful What You Wish For with Anatii (2017). In December 2016, AKA released the lead single “The World is Yours” from his forthcoming third album. However, due to delays in the release of the album, he opted to collaborate with Anatii on the album Be Careful What You Wish For instead. The album received positive reviews from critics, and was released on 28 July 2017. It was supported by three hit singles: “10 Fingers”, “Don’t Forget To Pray” and “Holy Mountain”.
