Agricultural Development Bank Renews Security Services Contract with Virtual Security

The Agricultural Development Bank (adb) has announced the renewal of its Service Level Agreement (SLA) with Virtual Security Africa for the provision of electronic security services across its head office and branch network. This decision, approved by the bank’s Board of Directors on December 23, 2024, underscores adb’s commitment to enhancing security infrastructure.

The renewed contract, effective from the 24th of December, 2024, will see Virtual Security Africa provide support and maintenance services at an annual cost of USD 250,000.00. This financial commitment is subject to annual review and finalization of the detailed SLA terms between the bank and the service provider.

In a memorandum dated December 24, 2024, Managing Director Alhassan Yakubu-Tali directed the Head of the General Services Department to coordinate with the General Counsel for the implementation of this board decision. The move is part of adb’s broader strategy to ensure robust security measures for its operations, aligning with the national interest encapsulated by the “#GhanaFirst” initiative.

The bank’s leadership, including the Deputy Managing Director, Chief Finance Officer, and Project Manager, have been briefed on the development, ensuring a coordinated approach towards enhancing the bank’s security framework.

This renewal not only reinforces adb’s dedication to safeguarding its assets and operations but also reflects the growing importance of cybersecurity in the financial sector. The bank’s proactive stance on security is expected to set a benchmark for other financial institutions in Ghana.
