Netflix has officially announced that the highly anticipated documentary series executive-produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, titled Sean Combs: The Reckoning, will debut on the streaming platform next week, December 2.
The four-part, hour-long docuseries—directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Alexandria Stapleton—examines the dramatic rise and ongoing fall of Sean “Diddy” Combs amid a wave of sexual assault allegations, federal investigations, and a high-profile lawsuit filed by his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
According to the official description, the project features “explosive, never-before-seen materials” and exclusive interviews with individuals who were once part of Combs’ inner circle.
50 Cent, who has publicly feuded with Combs for years and first revealed he was developing the project in December 2023, released a statement celebrating the series’ arrival:
“I’ve been committed to real storytelling for years through G-Unit Film & Television. I’m grateful to everyone who came forward and trusted us with their stories, and proud to have Alexandria Stapleton as the director on the project to bring this important story to the screen.”
Stapleton emphasized that the series aims to go beyond one man’s controversies, framing Combs’ story as a broader cultural reckoning.
“This isn’t just about the story of Sean Combs or the story of Cassie, or the story of any of the victims, or the allegations against him, or the trial,” Stapleton said. “Ultimately, this story is a mirror [reflecting us] as the public, and what we are saying when we put our celebrities on such a high pedestal. I hope [this documentary] is a wake-up call for how we idolize people, and to understand that everybody is a human being.”
Joining 50 Cent as executive producers are Stacy Scripter, David Karabinas, Ariel Brozell, and Brad Bernstein.
Reports indicate that all proceeds from Sean Combs: The Reckoning will be donated to support victims of sexual assault.
The series lands as Combs remains in federal custody awaiting trial on sex-trafficking and racketeering charges, to which he has pleaded not guilty. Civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault and abuse continue to mount.
Sean Combs: The Reckoning premieres globally on Netflix on Monday, December 2, 2025.
