According to Dr. Mustapha Hamid, CEO of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), all other candidates in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) race for flagbearer know that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will win, but they are only competing because it is within their legal rights to do so.
I support Dr. Bawumia, though. He’ll prevail in the NPP primary. There is no question in the world. Oh, yes. That’s it. I have no doubt that the other candidates for flagbearer are aware. But since it’s a competition, it’s acceptable for them to attend, he asserted.
Former trade minister Alan Kyeremanten, former NPP general secretary Kwabena Agyapong, independent MP Kennedy Ohene Agyepong, and former agriculture minister Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto are other candidates for the job of flagbearer. Dr. Hamid claims that each of these people is aware that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will win the competition. He believes that Dr. Bawumia is the greatest candidate to lead the NPP due to his outstanding performance as Vice President and other attributes.
First off, he’s arguably been the Fourth Republic’s most active Vice President.You would concur that this Vice President has been at the forefront of policy and hasn’t just sat back as Vice President; rather, he’s at the forefront of putting things into action,” he continued.
Elections for the NPP flagbearership are set for November 2023, as campaigns heat up and voters reveal their prejudices.
