Central Reg. Minister publicly expresses his affection for Kamala Harris by saying, “I love you so much”

Date:

The Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, is someone who the Central Regional Minister, Justina Marigold Assan, has expressed a deep affection and admiration for.

The minister expressed her admiration for the nation’s first female vice president and added that she was even more thrilled to meet her because it would help empower more women.

She made the remarks as she welcomed Kamala Harris and her husband, Douglas Emhoff, to her territory at the Oguaa Emintsimandze Palace in Cape Coast.

“I know you support women’s empowerment, and I’m thrilled to be a part of today’s celebration. I adore you, and I know that when this program is over, we will have created a very special program for our women, encouraging more of them to take up leadership roles.

The minister also took use of the occasion to emphasize a few issues related to education, employment, and women’s empowerment.

“This year, we shall elect delegates to our local authorities’ general assemblies in Ghana. We have categorized Ghana’s 261 local authorities as Metropolitan, Municipal, or District Assemblies across its 16 administrative areas.

“Elections at the local level are something you’re used to. You have been put through the wringer, Her Excellency. We have made a pledge to encourage more women to vote in district-level elections and perhaps even to represent more women at the decision-making table.

“On behalf of people and women in power, we would appreciate any type of support from you, your government, and team that will help encourage women to present themselves to be heard and to be the voices for the marginalized, or voiceless, in their communities,” she said.

The US vice president visited Cape Coast to see Osaberima Kwesi Atta II, the Omanhene of the Ogua Traditional Region, and to explore the Cape Coast Palace.
