Was Sam Smith on X Factor?
Sam Smith sang on the finale of The X Factor, but you’d never have known he was trying out for the competition.
To avoid singing covers, which he believes can be “destructive” to aspiring songwriters, the 22-year-old Stay With Me singer claims he has taken a unique route through the business.
Sam, who is on holiday in Australia over New Year’s Eve, attended the series final at Wembley Arena and described the experience as “wonderful”, but was frustrated he didn’t get the chance to meet the judges.
Sam Smith just finished performing as a guest star on The X Factor live final 2014.
