President Akufo-Addo Commissioning of the Abetifi Stone Age Park

In a major developmental push for domestic tourism and historical preservation, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has officially commissioned the state-of-the-art Abetifi Stone Age Park in the Kwahu East District of the Eastern Region. Valued at GHC4.5 million, the landmark project is designed to position Abetifi as a premier hub for archaeological research, cultural education, and eco-tourism in Ghana.

Speaking at the grand launch event, dignitaries, local chiefs, and tourism stakeholders gathered to witness the unveiling of a site that promises to shed light on ancient West African settlements. The Abetifi Stone Age Park project falls in line with broader national initiatives to diversify Ghana’s economic revenue streams by leveraging its rich historical assets.

Unlocking Economic Potential in the Kwahu East District

The establishment of the GHC4.5 million heritage park is expected to serve as a catalyst for local economic development. Beyond preserving antiquities and geological formations dating back centuries, the facility will create direct and indirect employment opportunities for the youth in Abetifi and surrounding communities.
