(SARPY COUNTY, Nebraska) — The community of Sarpy County is in mourning following a tragic car accident that claimed the life of 16-year-old Kaiden Walsh and left several others injured. The incident occurred when a vehicle carrying multiple teenagers lost control and rolled over.
Kaiden’s parents, Erika and Kevin Walsh, confirmed their son’s death in a heartfelt social media post. “Our hearts are shattered as we share the devastating news of the loss of our beloved son, Kaiden during a tragic car accident,” they wrote. “Kaiden was not just our son, he was the best brother, a loyal friend and a bright light in our lives.” The teen leaves behind two siblings, Lukas and Kallie, and was remembered for his warmth, kindness, humor, and zest for life.
The crash involved other young passengers, one of whom was identified as Evan Marks, Kaiden’s lifelong best friend. Evan’s parents, Erica and Rob Marks, expressed their commitment to support the Walsh family through this ordeal, stating, “We will get through this together Erika Walsh and Kevin Walsh. We will be there every day. Evan promised Kaiden he would be there for Kallie and Lukas. We all will. We love you forever. Kaiden sweet boy, we love you from the bottom of our hearts…”
In the wake of this tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched by Kassidy Riekens of Papillion, Nebraska, to support the Walsh family during this difficult time. The fundraiser has already garnered nearly $7,000 of its $10,000 goal.
