Bowie State University announced the tragic passing of Amani Miles, a beloved member of the football student support staff. Miles, a 2024 graduate from Silver Spring, Maryland, was known for her uplifting spirit and dedication to the university’s athletic programs.
Miles graduated with a degree in Business Administration, focusing on marketing, and served as the Head Football Equipment Manager during her time at the university. Beyond her academic and athletic commitments, she was actively involved in the Bowie State Circle K International and the Bowie State Cab Street Team.
The university shared a poignant statement on social media, expressing their profound grief: “We are deeply saddened to share the loss of our beloved

Born on January 6, 2002, Amani had just celebrated her 23rd birthday. Her graduation in December was a moment of pride, which she shared on social media, alongside photos of her in her graduation gown. She was remembered fondly by her peers, with one cousin publicly celebrating her achievement.
In tribute, her class of 2024 peers honored her memory with a heartfelt message: “To our fallen Bulldog, Amani Miles – a loving daughter, sister, friend, and forever Bowie Bulldog. We lost a sweet and innocent soul far too soon. From equipment manager to a proud Fall 2024 graduate in Business Marketing, Amani left a mark that will never fade. Her light and kindness touched so many, and her legacy will live on in our hearts forever.”
The cause of Miles’ death has not been disclosed. Bowie State Athletics has extended their deepest condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time.
